Around Appledore Island
Although I find some aspects of my recent visit to Appledore Island challenging, I seek out my own space amidst the salt-spray and granite.
- Rainbows and Showers
- The Bridges of Madison County
- I’m sure I never would have thought of going to Madison County had I not seen the movie The Bridges of Madison County. But ever since I saw the movie I’ve been wanting to visit the corn-blanketed hills of central Iowa to see the covered bridges described in the story.
- Two Storms
- I’ve heard that in the moments before a tsunami crashes ashore, the sea rushes away from the beach. I’ve also heard that what you don’t want to do at such a time is follow the sea as it rushes out, because it’s coming back with it a bloody big wave.
